    National Voter's Day

    Students of I.T.S Paramedical College, Muradnagar participated in National Voter's Day on 25th Jan, 2017. Students rally was organized from Modi Kapda Mill, Modinagar to Ginni Devi Girls PG College, Modinagar in which 30schools and colleges participated. The rally was inaugurated by SDM, Modinagar. Many competitions including solo singing, group singing, essay writing, poster making, nukkad natak were organized. Our Students got First Prize in Nukkad Natak competition. The National Voters’ Day is celebrated every year in India on January 25 every year to mark the foundation day of Election Commission of India (ECI). The significance of this day is to encourage youngsters, who have reached the age of 18, of the country to participate in the electoral process, by enrolling or registering themselves in electoral rolls and to exercise their franchise.

    On 24th Dec, 2016 Department of Biotechnology arranged a one day Industrial Visit to “Central Potato Research Institute” Modipuram, Meerut for B.Sc. Biotechnology III Year students. CPRIC, Modipuram is the biggest Research Station of the Central Research Institute, Shimla under ICAR. The institute is famous for its research in the field of Potato Research, Plant Tissue Culture Technology, Seed Technology, Soil Science, Organic Farming etc. On the visit a brief lecture was given by Dr. Ashok Kumar, Asstt. Chief Technical Officer who informed the students about various agricultural activities being performed by the Scientists at CPRIC, Modipuram. He also informed about the varieties of potatoes being produced at CPRIC. Joint Director Dr. Manoj Kumar also addressed the students and informed them about the history  of the institute and various stations of CPRI. The students visited laboratories, plant tissue culture labs, museum, potato fields, hydroponic system unit, aeroponic system unit etc.

     Department of Biotechnology organized “BiotechniX-2016: Workshop and Biotechnology Awareness Program” was organized on 24th Dec, 2016 in Maharishi Dayanand Vidyapeeth (I.C.), Govindpuram, Ghaziabad  in which class XII students of biology group participated. Mr. Aditya Gupta and Dr. Shikha Sharma through PPT and lecture informed the students about Biotechnology as a subject and also what are the career and future opportunities available for the students. The students were also informed about the recent research that is going on in labs and also current discoveries that has been made in the field of life sciences particularly in Biotechnology. A workshop session was performed in which hands-on training was provided to the students. The students were also distributed certificates for participating in the program.

    “BiotechniX-2016: Trends & Techniques in Biotechnology” was organized on 23rd Dec, 2016. Students from Rukmani Modi Mahila Inter College, Modinagar participated in the workshop. The students performed Hands-on experiments on different modules designed for them. Hands-on training on Total RBCs count and Isolation of DNA was performed on by Mr. Aditya Gupta;; Hands-on training on Plant Tissue Culture was performed by Dr. Pallavi Mittal and Hands-on training on Bioinformatics was performed Mrs. Charu Kaushik. Students visited the campus escorted by Mr. Gyan Singh. The Workshop was organized by Dr. Pallavi Mittal. Special thanks to the event coordinators and team of students from B.Sc. III year and II year who very well managed the entire event. All the participants were distributed certificates.

    Department of Biotechnology organized a one day Workshop on “Stress Management, Motivation and Academic Performance” in association with MCKS Yoga Vidya Pranic Healing Foundation, New Delhi. The main purpose of organizing this workshop was to develop the habbit of meditation and concentration in the students. It has been observed that teens at very early stage surround themselves with many negative thoughts which directly and indirectly affect their studies and career. A great initiative has been taken by the MCKS Yoga Vidya Pranic Healing Foundation, New Delhi in which they train the students on how to come out with all negative thoughts and concentrate on studies. The workshop proved to be very beneficial for students and also for the faculty members. Special thanks to our B.Sc Biotech III year students Ayushi Singhal and Shruti Sharma for taking initiative and organizing the workshop as an active member of the Pranic Healing Foundation.

    Department of Biotechnology organized a one day seminar on “Entrepreneurship and Job Scenario of Biotech Industry in India”. The technical session was addressed by Er. Mayank Raj Bhardwaj, CEO of Rapture Biotech India. Mr. Bhardwaj established his own venture and presently established five research and training in different parts of the country and one in Nepal. Students of B.Sc. and M.Sc. Biotechnology actively participated in the seminar. Students came to know about diverse academic and career opportunities available for them after graduation. Students came to know about scholarship available for them at various levels after UG and PG. Students came to know about how to start own business in Biotech industry and become “Job providers” instead of “Job seekers”. Mr. Mayank also discussed about the problems being faced in present scenario like lack of awareness, lack of trained skill personals etc. He also suggested how to overcome with these problems. A healthy interaction session was also held between Mr. Mayank, faculty members and the students.
